Online e-PAN Card Immediacy
Individual taxpayers who have not been assigned a Permanent Account Number (PAN) but who have an Aadhaar card can use the Instant e-PAN service to obtain a PAN immediately. This is a was before service where you can do the following:
● By using Aadhaar and your cellphone number that is linked to Aadhaar, you can obtain a cryptographically signed PAN in digital form, which is completely free of charge.
● Update your PAN information in accordance with Aadhaar e-KYC.
● After allocation or upgrading of PAN, create an e-Filing individual account on the e-KYC details you received.
● Verify the status of any outstanding electronic PAN requests and/or download an e-PAN during logging into the e-File portal. e-Filing portal.
Prerequisites for using this service include the following
● A person who has not yet been assigned a PAN number
● A valid Aadhaar number, as well as a mobile phone number linked to the Aadhaar number,
● The user was not a minor at the time of the request, and
● The user does not fall within the description of a representative assesse as defined in Section 160 of the Tax Act.
Step-by-Step Instructions for Creating a New e-PAN
Step 1: Go to the e-Filing portal’s site and select Instant e-PAN from the drop-down menu.
Step 2: Click “Get New e-PAN” on the e-PAN page to
Step 3: On the Get New e-PAN screen, insert your 12-digit Aadhaar number, check the box that says “I confirm that” and press “Continue”.
Note:
● If the Aadhaar number entered has already been connected to a valid PAN, the following notice is displayed: “Entered Aadhaar Number has already been linked to a valid PAN.”
● The following notice is displayed if the Aadhaar number entered does not match any active mobile numbers: The entered Aadhaar number does not match any active mobile numbers.
Step 4: Go to the OTP validation page and click “Submit”. I have read and agree to the conditions of the consent agreement and wish to
proceed. Continue by clicking on the Continue button.
Step 5: The OTP validation page will appear. On this page, input the 6-digit OTP that was sent to the mobile number associated with Aadhaar, select the checkbox to have the Aadhaar details validated with UIDAI, and click Continue.
Note:
● The OTP will be valid for a maximum of 15 minutes.
● You have three tries to input the right OTP number.
● The OTP expiry count displayed on the screen informs you when the OTP is about to expire.
● By selecting “Resend OTP,” a fresh OTP will be produced and delivered to the user’s device.
Step 6: Choosing the “I Accept that checkbox on the Validate Aadhaar Details screen and clicking Continue are the next two steps.
Note:
● Linking or validating your email ID (which is associated with your Aadhaar) is completely optional.
● If you have updated your Aadhaar email ID but it has not yet been validated, select Validate Email from the menu bar. On the Validate Email ID page, enter the 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP) that was sent to the cellphone number associated with your Aadhaar and click Continue.
● If you have not yet changed your Aadhaar email ID, select Link Email ID from the drop-down menu. On the Validate Email ID page, enter the 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP) that was sent to the cellphone number associated with your Aadhaar and click Continue.
When a submission is successful, a success message pops up, along with an acknowledgement number, on the screen. For later reference purposes, you should retain a record of the Acknowledgement ID. In addition, you will receive a complete message on the mobile number associated with your Aadhaar.

● In order to apply for an e-PAN card, you must first visit the Income Tax Department’s official website (www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/Home). Select our services from the drop-down menu Pan in an instant.
● It will display two alternatives in front of you; you must select the second choice (Check Status/Download PAN) in order to complete the process.
● Now, enter your Aadhar Card code and click on the Continue button to continue.
● Enter the OTP (one-time password).
● Check the status of your Pan card or download your e-Pan.
