Apply for a Passport Online

In order to apply for an Indian passport online, you must first register a Passport Seva account and follow a few simple procedures. Passport Seva Kendras or Regional Passport Offices must be visited in person to complete the process after arranging an appointment online. After submitting an online passport application, you will have 90 days to visit a Passport Seva Kendra before your application must be resubmitted.

How Do I Get a Passport Through the Internet?

There are specific processes that one must do in order to submit an online passport application. Detailed descriptions of the steps involved are provided below:

Log in with your Passport Seva credentials

Step 1: Go to Passport Seva’s official website and click on the ‘APPLY’ link.
Step 2: Enter your username and password if you already have an account.
Step 3: Creating an account is required if this is your first time using the service.
Step 4: By clicking on link, you can register for the course.
Step 5: Enter your username and password. Select “Register” after entering the captcha code.

The Process of Selecting an App Type

Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be presented with a list of services that you can select from. If you’re interested in applying for a:
Obtain a new or reissued passport, obtain a diplomatic passport, obtain a police clearance certificate, or obtain an identity certificate.

Getting Started with the Application Process

On-line or offline application forms are available. Follow these procedures to complete the application form offline:

Step 1: Download the application form as a soft copy by clicking the link provided.
Step 2: An electronic copy of the following forms will be displayed in the second step of the process. Choose the appropriate form for your application type and save it to your computer:
New or reissued; Police Clearance; Diplomatic/Official; Identity Document
Step 3: Fill out the application e-form and click on the ‘Upload e-form’ link to upload your file.
Step 4: Upload the completed application form in step four.
Alternatively, you can begin the process and finish it at a later time. Before submitting the form, it’s a good idea to double-check it.
Step 5: Make an appointment, pay for it, and book it.

The next step is to make an appointment with a Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or other appropriate passport authority after completing and submitting the application form. Mentioned below are the steps to make an appointment:-

Step 1: Go to the ‘Applicant Home’ page and click on the ‘View Saved/Submitted Applications’ link in the ‘Applicant Dashboard.’
Step 2: The details of the application form submitted will be shown in this step. Fill out the form and select the ARN that corresponds to it.
Step 3: In order to proceed, you must select the “Pay and Schedule Appointment” option from the drop-down menu.
Step 4: Once you’ve made your selection, click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.

Note: It is important to note that the online charge for tatkaal appointments is the same as the amount for a conventional passport application. The remaining balance must be paid in full on the day of your appointment at the PSK.

After you’ve made your payment online, you can schedule your appointment. If you choose to pay by challan, the following processes must be followed:

• Make your payment in person at an SBI branch. Because the challan is only valid for 85 days after it is generated, this cannot be done.)
• To continue the transaction, obtain a copy of the challan from the receiving bank’s employees.
• The bank validates the information on the challan within two days.
• After fees have been successfully paid, the applicant will be able to “watch the payment process” on the website. Additionally, an email is sent.

How to Submit an e-Form

The following are the steps necessary to submit your e-Form:

Step 1: Navigate to the Passport Seva official website.
Step 2: On the homepage, click the link labeled “Download e-Form”.
Step 3: Complete the form completely and accurately.
Step 4: Click the “Validate and Save” button. (An XML file will be created and must be submitted later)
Step 5: From the homepage, select the “Register Now” link..
Step 6: Select the XML file generated in step 4 by clicking on “Upload e-Form”.
Step 7: Click “Pay and Schedule Appointment” on the “View Saved/Submitted Applications” page. Payments can be made via SBI’s online banking, linked banks’ internet banking, SBI challan, and debit or credit cards.
Step 8: Select the “Print Application Receipt” link. (Printing is not required; you may also present the SMS with the application details at the office)
Step 9: On the appointment day, visit the Regional Passport Office or Passport Seva Kendra that was reserved for you along with your original documents.

Where Can I Submit an Application for a Passport Offline?

Online (www.passportindia.gov.in), by filling out and submitting the passport application form available on the passport website, or offline (at any of the locations listed below), by filling out and submitting the form at any of the locations listed below.

• Photocopies of documents that have been self-attested, but remember to bring the originals with you as well.
• 5 x 3.5 cm photographs that are devoid of any marks, signatures, stamps, or other adornments are required. It should be a color photograph that has been taken recently with a white or light background to be considered. And then attach the image. Passport applications are accepted at Speed Post locations (SPC)

However, you will only be able to apply for and submit forms for a passport at specific Speed Post Centers in your region.

• At the SPC, you can purchase, fill out, and submit passport application forms. The form, which includes an envelope, will cost Rs.20.
• You will be required to send supporting paperwork, which must be self-attested, together with the duly filled and signed application form, which should also include the standard passport photographs.
• If you are applying for a fresh or new passport, you must pay the passport application fee at the SPC. Payment is only accepted in the form of a Demand Draft or cash.

Passport applications can be made at Citizen Service Centers (CSC)

• Passport forms, along with the needed documents (photocopies and originals) and photographs, can be purchased, filled out, and presented at CSCs just like DPCs and SPCs.
• To complete the procedure, the requisite fee must be paid.
• Only cash or credit/debit cards (credit/debit) can be used to pay the passport fee at CSC. You will be given a reference number at the end of the procedure that may be used to monitor the application’s progress.
